Construction FAQ's
Who should I contact if I have
questions?
Please contact the construction field office at
(608)444-9277. Please leave a message and someone from Ayres Associates
will return your phone call.
How will construction effect
businesses along the corridor?
Access will be maintained to businesses at most
times during construction. If there is access to your business off a side
road or alleyway, we would like you to consider using that as your access
during construction. If access is only possible by using East Washington
Avenue, then that driveway will be maintained as much as possible.
Utility construction and concrete paving will disrupt access for short
periods of time. Businesses and residents will be notified by the
contractor or field staff in advance of driveway closures.
Can businesses place signs to
direct patrons to their businesses during construction?
Yes, temporary signage by businesses
to direct patrons around and through the construction site may be placed,
but must first be approved by the City of Madison and WisDOT.
Will pedestrian traffic be
maintained during construction?
Pedestrian traffic will be maintained during
construction along the existing sidewalks and at the signalized intersections of
Wright Street, USH
51/Stoughton Road, Mendota Street, Lien Road, and Portage/Thierer Road.
